Garry Corpuz

Garry started his career as a folk dancer at the Bungkos Palay Dance Company in the Science City of Muñoz. After a year of training in folk dance, he became a scholar at the Philippine High School for the Arts where he graduated with an Outstanding Student Artist award and a MARIA scholarship award. He took the CCP Summer Dance Workshop under the tutelage of Noordin Jumalon, Victor Ursabia, Robert Medina, Hanedy Sala, Cyril Fallar, and Philip Rocamora.

Garry was a finalist in the Junior Category of the 2011 National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) Ballet Competition. In the same year, he was sent as a delegate to the Mini World Expo in Seoul, South Korea. For the company, he essayed the role of Theseus in in Carlo Pacis’ A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Peasant Pas de Quatre in Giselle, and Init-init in Manhid. In 2014, he won first place at the 1st CCP Ballet Competition.

Garry is currently a Dance Major at the De La –Salle College of Saint Benilde.
