Known to his friends as Chabi, he started his formal dance training at the age of 12 at the Steps Dance Studio under Sofia Zobel-Elizalde, Marion Ignacio, and Jun Saagundo. Chabi has also taken ballet classes with Anna Villadolid, Anatoly Panasyukov, Alan Hineline, Tina Santos, and Valerie Bailey, and modern with Agnes Locsin, and Max Luna III.
In 2009 he joined Ballet Philippines as an apprentice and was promoted to the company a year later. He was presented with Best Ballet Dancer Award at Steps Dance Studio, and with the CCP Dance School, he has essayed the lead role Juan in A Forest Tale.
For the company, he has danced the solo Gopak, the Bakya Mo Neneng pas de deux in Ensalada, the Bluebird Pas de Deux in Sleeping Beauty, the Peasant Pas de Deux in Giselle, and his first principal role for the company, Basilio in Don Quixote. He was a finalist at both the 2007 and 2010 NAMCYA Junior and Senior Ballet Category.
