Gia’s formal ballet training started when she was 7 years old under Teacher Nida Onglengco-Pangan. She then joined the CCP Dance School in 2007, was granted scholarship at the age of 9, and became company scholar at the age of 14. Her notable teachers at the CCPDS include the late Noordin Jumalon, Nonoy Froilan, Gina Katigbak, Rhea Dumdum-Bautista, Karla Javier, Rubylee Gomez, Monette Victoria, Alden Lugnasin and Victor Ursabia. She has performed key roles in BPDS productions such as Marie for the 2012 production of The Nutcracker, and the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland in 2015. With the company, she has performed in Peter Pan, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Giselle, among others. In 2014, she was accepted at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy’s Summer Intensive in New York, and was trained by notable Bolshoi Master teachers Georgii Gusev, Irina Pyatkina, and Svetlana Ivanova. She was a semi-finalist at the 5th Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition in Hong kong in 2015. She joined Ballet Philippines as Apprentice for its 47th Season, and was promoted to Company Member a year after. She is currently a Performing Arts (Dance) student at the University of the Philippines College of Music.
