Karla started her dance training at age 10 in Charmaine's Studio of the Performing Arts in Cavite City under Charmaine Ebio Cunanan. She started with belly dancing and later on joined ballet. A year later, she transferred to CCPDS where she was trained in Classical and Modern Ballet, Hiphop, and Jazz. After months of training, she was given the chance to share the stage with the company as one of the little fairies in BP's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." She was also one of the lost boys in Peter Pan (2015), one of the village people in Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko (2016), and a member of the corps in Swan Lake (2017). In the dance school, she performed a number of variations namely the Sugarplum Fairy Variation, Kitri, and a variation from Paquita. She also did a duet for Harlequin and Columbine. After five years of training under Ballet Philippines Dance School, Karla was promoted as apprentice at age 16.
