Katrene San Miguel

Katrene started her formal dance instruction under the tutelage of Effie Nanas at the age of 7. With Nanas' school, she was also able to train in classes in New York's Broadway Dancentre and Steps Dance Studio, China's Beijing Dance Academy, and Seattle's Pacific Northwest Ballet.

In 2012, she entered the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde as a Dance Major and became company scholar of Ballet Philippines. A year later, she went on a nine-week intensive as a scholar with the City Ballet School in San Francisco where she trained in the Vaganova style under Galina Alexandrova. Returning to the Philippines, she was promoted to apprentice. In 2013, she was promoted to company member and has since danced in all the productions of Ballet Philippines, notably as the peasant pas de deux in Giselle. In 2014, she was a finalist at the 1st CCP Ballet Competition.
