BP Hosts an Intimate Private Preview of Limang Daan

An intimate dinner was held at the private residence of BP President Kathleen Liechtenstein for the preview of Limang Daan. Special guests that evening included editors and journalists from Tatler, Lifestyle Asia, Vogue, GMA News, Daily Tribune, Inquirer, Mega, The Post and BluPrint. They were also joined by award-winning filmmaker and Limang Daan librettist, Moira Lang.

Over cocktails, the writer who lends a feminist voice to BP’s season-ender show shared: “Limang Daan is an invitation for [Filipinos] to cast a more critical eye on our history, the role that some of the vestiges of colonialism have left behind on the Philippines—religion and patriarchy—and what this means for women up to this day. It is time to ask ourselves if we are still holding onto things that are better left in the past. But that’s ultimately up to the audience to weigh, from a more critical view of our history,”

A 9-course dinner of reimagined heritage dishes set the tone for an evening dedicated to toasting the beauty, wisdom and fortitude of the Filipina. An extraordinary experience of culinary art, every dish sent out from Liechtenstein’s kitchen was homage to Philippine flavors, ingredients, textures, and creativity. Before dessert, a beautiful excerpt of LIMANG DAAN unfolded. it presented each of the lead characters and heroines from the time-bending narrative that tells the 500-year story of the. Philippines through a feminist lens. 

Following the intimate dinner and private preview, special gifts from Ballet Philippines and Laura Mercier were sent out as tokens of gratitude and appreciation. These included traditional embroidered fans and a cosmetics that would perfectly fit purses on gala night.
