Artem Yachmennikov graduated from the world famous Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has taught at some of the finest, most exclusive ballet academies in Russia and Italy, and performed on the most prestigious ballet stages in the world such as Covent Garden in London, Grand Opera in Paris, Metropolitan Opera in New-York, The London Coliseum Theater and Champs-Elysees Theater in Paris.
Yachmennikov was a first soloist with the world famous Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, a soloist at The Mariinsky Theater, (Kirov) in St.Petersburg, a principal dancer at one of the most prestigious European theaters, the Dutch National Ballet, and a principal dancer at San Francisco Ballet, one of the largest and oldest professional ballet companies in the United States. He has danced all the leading roles in works by many of the twentieth century's master choreographers, including George Balanchine, Natalia Makarova, Peter Wright, Hans van Manen, Alexei Ratmansky, Rudi van Dantzig, John Neumeier, William Forsythe, Francesco Ventriglia, Patrick de Bana, Aidar Akhmetov, Helgi Tomasson, Ted Brandsen and more. He partnered with the stars of ballet world including Svetlana Zakharova, Anna Tsygankova, Maria Alexandrova, Igone de Jongh, Sofiane Sylve, Tan Yuanyuan, Larisa Leznina, Ilze Liepa, Ylia Makhalina and more.

He has also collaborated with the Italian franchise of Dancing With The stars as a dancer and choreographer, appeared on the cultural television channel “Mezzo” with the ballet “Cleopatra/Ida Rubinstein” and performed at The Hans van Manen Festival, XVI International World Ballet Stars Festival and the Annual Viennese Opera Ball.
Artem is currently the owner of Melbourne City Dance Center and Artistic Director of the Melbourne City Ballet Theatre. Melbourne City Ballet Theatre presented America’s favorite fairytale ballets, such as the Nutcracker, Swan Lake & Sleeping Beauty with live symphonic orchestra accompaniment. MCBT had the privilege to collaborate with the National Ballet Theatre of Odessa from Ukraine.
