After two long years, ArteFino and its growing community of makers returns to the fairgrounds–this time bigger and for five weeks.
ArteFino has made a big comeback and this time around, with more purpose. Last August 25, the ground floor of the Power Plant Mall was bustling with activity and excitement. Patrons, merchants, designers, lovers of craft, and advocates of the hyperlocal lifestyle filled the festival grounds of ArteFino. It was a reunion and celebration of community, punctuated by purposeful retailing.
This year’s ArteFino Festival will feature over 150 brands. Each week, a new roster of labels across fashion, accessories, fine jewelry, home, and children’s wear will take over the selling floor. But more than a retail event, ArteFino inspires elevated, responsible lifestyles that honor craft and culture. Over 40 new designers will join the growing community of ArteFino. Founder Cedie Lopez-Vargas elaborates, “We want our vendors to succeed and we want them to be prepared for a global market. This is why apart from the product, we also look into their purpose, vision.” Barracks, a curated space for men to lounge, shop, and sip on artisanal brews, is a big draw for male shoppers to linger and enjoy the festival.
The founders of ArteFino–Maritess Pineda, Susie Quiros, Mito Rufino, Cedie Lopez-Vargas, and Marimel Francisco–excitedly shared: “We wanted to bring this bond together in a shared space where we could all shop, learn, and connect.”
On opening day, the entire floor was abuzz with activity. Shoppers, brand founders, patrons and first time visitors went from stall to stall to experience the best of Philippine craft. The founders of ArteFino–Maritess Pineda, Susie Quiros, Mito Rufino, Cedie Lopez-Vargas, and Marimel Francisco–excitedly shared: “We wanted to bring this bond together in a shared space where we could all shop, learn, and connect.”
Afternoon cocktails from Don Papa Rum and delicious Filipino bites appealed as a most welcome break to a full day of ArteFino shopping. Cedie, who gave a warm welcome, expressed: “We are finally back home here at Rockwell, and it feels so good. This year we would like to focus on certains things, and that is Renew and Regenerate. So if you will notice it is a theme that will run through the entire selection.” Week two of ArteFino while the entire festival will run until September 28.
