BALLET PHILIPPINES – Ballet Philippine’s Share the Magic initiative has managed to reach over 10,000 beneficiaries from organizations such as DepEd SPED, Girls Scouts of the Philippines, and the Open School of Music, amongst others. The CSR program sets out to share the magic of dance to youngsters in their formative yearS. In addition, Ballet Philippines has extended the program to men and women in uniform, by treating them to a night out at the ballet. Family members and loved ones are also invited, making it a special evening for everybody. Today, Ballet Philippines is the only dance company in the country that pays tributes to our brave protectors in duty.

CRIBS FOUNDATION, INC. – Founded in 1974 by two American missionary wives, CRIBS is the first non-government organization in the country to implement a Foster Care Program. Located at a sprawling property in Antipolo City, the organization places abandoned babies with adoptive parents, as well as helps rehabilitate sexually-abused young girls. Beyond monetary donations (like sponsoring a child’s education through the Aftercare Program), CRIBS also encourages volunteers to help raise funds for special projects, lend a hand in celebrations, and organize outreach programs.

HOSPICIO DE SAN JOSE – Hospicio de San Juan has a long and storied history of kindness. Established in 1810, they have cared for homeless beggars, soldiers, and mentally-disabled individuals. Today, the Daughters of Charity have transformed the Manila-based headquarters into a haven for abandoned children and the elderly. They provide health and psycho-social care, education, livelihood, pastoral support, and most importantly, a home for many of our displaced kababayans.

HOUND HAVEN – While there are many great charities that help out our K-9 friends, we highly recommend Hound Haven, which advocates for the lives of service dogs in the Philippines. Their ultimate goal is to “influence public policy and replicate Robby’s Law (United States of America H.R. 5314), which promotes the transfer and adoption of working dogs at the end of their service.” You can help these aged pooches by making a donation, becoming an adoptive parent, provide support for a specific dog in their care, or lend a helping paw by assisting Hound Haven with many of their outreach programs.
