For years, BALLET PHILIPPINES has endeavored to bring the magic of dance to the less privileged. “In those few moments inside the theater watching the ballet, we hope to bring joy, and inspiration to street children, orphans, and young ones who otherwise won’t have the resources to buy a ticket,” shares BP President Kathleen Liechtenstein. “It’s an advocacy that is very close to our hearts.”
During the weekend performances of COPPELIA, the dance company welcomed children from the Philippine Cancer Society Outreach Program, Sisters of Mary School, Children of Hope Foundation Inc., Batang K (under Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko), St Theresa’s Foundation of Quezon City as well as youth from Barangay San Martin de Porres, Parañaque City, among others. “Just as much as the applause, Ballet Philippines finds the most fulfillment in making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate,” intimates Liechtenstein.

The program also extends to MEN IN UNIFORM, this unique program honors gallant men and women in uniform by treating them to an evening of art, dance, and culture. As defenders and law enforcers of our country, Ballet Philippines pays homage to the dedication and courage of our men and women in the military, navy and air force. “We hope to treat our hardworking men and women in uniform to a night at the ballet…make them and their families special through dance.” Ballet Philippines is the only dance company today, to pay tribute to our men and women in service through the arts.
For the 54th Season, Ballet Philippines looks to expand the advocacy to reach out to more children and men in uniform across the nation. Anchored and guided by the season’s theme, CSR programs of the company this year will work towards harnessing the Power of Dance to ignite joy, hope, and inspiration in the hearts of those who are less fortunate through dance.
