As with any creative endeavor, it takes endless work days, vision, passion, and purpse to come up with brilliant output. Mega Magazine’s Editor-In-Chief, Peewee Isidro, lets us in on the secrets that bind the glossy pages of the country’s leading fashion magazine.

For MEGA Editor-in-Chief Peewee Isidro, fashion has always been a huge part of her life. “I was constantly bombarded with unique points of view, individuality, and personal style, so it was a natural progression that I ended up working in fashion.” She began her working life with brief stints in production and media, but Peewee was quick to try something new. “With the help of my friend, I tried out publishing.”

Her capable hands soon landed a job at MEGA, the country’s first and biggest fashion magazine, where she began as a fashion assistant and where things finally came full circle. “What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to put Filipino talent to the fore via fashion and design. It is to work with both new and current creatives that have something to say. In the same light, it is also through giving them a platform and supporting them in their endeavors that drives our purpose.”

Any misconception about a fearsome industry is not an issue for Peewee. As a matter of fact, she believes it only strengthens her reserve. “There’s time for play and there’s time for work. People need to be tough and have strong stamina in this industry. Not everyone will appreciate you, but as long you can bring your team and brand together then you’ve achieved your purpose.”

The many years in tenure have given Peewee wise perspective on the nature of her job, “As we all know, change is the only permanent thing in the world. In our industry, there have been countless changes we need to adapt to every day.” Content creation and social media platforms are always changing, after all. “It’s so dynamic. We’ve learned to evolve with our readers and adapt to the current climate in terms of content creation.” According to her, it’s the reason for MEGA’s continued relevance. “It’s because of its ability to adapt and recognize change while never forgetting its purpose,” she relates.

Many will find comfort in being able to keep up with today’s trends, but she believes in taking the brand further. “There’s still a lot in store for MEGA and as we face the new era of the brand, expect us to discover new talents, push for Filipino designers and creatives and more importantly, tell narratives that deserve to be told.” For Peewee, pages continue to be added onto the this epic journey, just as it always has.
